Yeah, so in their continuing attempts to fill the contrarian slot that used to be Salon's territory, Slate has introduced a column called, and I kid you not, "You're Doing It Wrong."  The recipes are pretty appealing, though; I used the stuffing recipe for Thanksgiving and made the Butternut Squash soup tonight.  Both, I might add, with alterations.  Keep those Pepperidge Farm croutons OUT of my cornbread stuffing, kthx.  The soup would've benefited from the addition of a fennel bulb.  I have yet to attempt the fruitcake.

So, the Sleeping Beauty Project is off and running.

Oh, yes.  Chapter Four of the girl!Marth story is up.

Marth is so overshadowed by his pair of canonical tacticians that it's easy to forget that, at least in the Nyna chapters of FE11, he's shown to be pretty much conducting things by himself.  It makes it all the more mind-boggling that MyUnit has to spell out battle plans for him in crayon come FE12.

Also, puberty sucks, but y'all knew that already.

Read this on the SF forums and loved it:

"Wherever he goes, clusterfuck follows."

So, so true.

Well, since [livejournal.com profile] sacae  kicked off the posting, I figured I might as well get in gear.  This is the first of the two prompts I claimed, that being "Nyna and Camus-- four ways it could've gone and one way it did."

Actually, Manna did me a favor indirectly by reminding me that these fills don't have to be epic in scope.  And "epic" wouldn't have been right for this anyway, but I did reduce the scope of the fourth "way it could've gone" (fantasy) from a lengthy piece with dialogue down to a couple of paragraphs.  I wanted to have some cracky fun with that "way," but I wasn't having fun writing it, so oh well.

So, now I can concentrate on writing FE8 AU band!fic.  Yay.

First off, happy birthday to [livejournal.com profile] sacae !  I guess you're a fellow Leo.  Not that it means anything, natch.  It's Mick Jagger's birthday, too-- does that creep you out?  It kinda creeps me out to share a birthday with Madame du Barry, all the more so considering RoV.

Anyway, up and posted Chapter Two of "Dark Sun of Desire" on ffnet at last.  I guess I'm in a bad mood or something, because I've been flinging myself against that one, "Trinity," and the Hector/Lyn WIP in one frustrated burst after days of not writing a thing.  Hector/Lyn thing is now titled "Safe" and if I'm not restrained it'll be about 10K words.  I hope it maxes out well short of that, yikes.  Dunno why I'm in the mood to write something from Hector's POV, as he is most definitely Not My Type.  Maybe it's just the contrast from my usual set of characters.  Also, I like the black cloud of doom hanging over his head.

Spoileriffic thoughts on Camus )

Anyway, now that I have a better sense of "Sirius" I can make some headway on chapters 3-5 of "Trinity."  And maybe finish chapter 2 in the bargain.

As I've decided to start uploading the chapters of "Dark Sun of Desire" on ffnet once they've passed muster here among my f-list, I figured I might as well start uploading the chapters of its companion piece, "Trinity."  The latter is the Camus/Zeke/Sirius story, and if you think that means a threesome of dudes you're probably not its target audience.  I wanted it to be a one-shot, but apparently people get scared off by 10,000 word one-shots, so now it's chaptered.  ;P

Massive spoilers herein. Massive spoilers inherent in subject matter. )
