Yeah, so in their continuing attempts to fill the contrarian slot that used to be Salon's territory, Slate has introduced a column called, and I kid you not, "You're Doing It Wrong."  The recipes are pretty appealing, though; I used the stuffing recipe for Thanksgiving and made the Butternut Squash soup tonight.  Both, I might add, with alterations.  Keep those Pepperidge Farm croutons OUT of my cornbread stuffing, kthx.  The soup would've benefited from the addition of a fennel bulb.  I have yet to attempt the fruitcake.

So, the Sleeping Beauty Project is off and running.

After much thought, I decided to default to canon; there is possibly no better case of an active female caring for (and lusting after) a passive male than Teeta and that blond guy who washes up in Valencia.

I think the 'fic speaks for itself, though I will add that the non-death of Camus raises all kinds of interesting possibilities.  Was he effectively buried alive because the corpse-disposal detail was sloppy-- either his own men weren't thinking straight, or someone like Est got the job?  Was he buried alive because someone didn't want to go through the trouble of saving him?  Or was he actually dead and resurrected somehow by the unique magic of Valencia?

It bears contemplating.

Oh, yes.  Chapter Four of the girl!Marth story is up.

Marth is so overshadowed by his pair of canonical tacticians that it's easy to forget that, at least in the Nyna chapters of FE11, he's shown to be pretty much conducting things by himself.  It makes it all the more mind-boggling that MyUnit has to spell out battle plans for him in crayon come FE12.

Also, puberty sucks, but y'all knew that already.

I've actually never had any kind of fruitcake. I can't eat dried fruit anymore, so I doubt I ever will. Am I missing out?

All I could think of when you suggested Camus could have died was Westley in The Princess Bride, aha.

It seriously depends. There are dry fruitcakes and moist ones, ones studded with nuts and chocolate and ones just filled with fruit. My favorite takes on the fruitcake are the light, soft Italian panettone and the bread-like German stollen. Especially when the former is laced with chestnuts and the latter filled with marzipan.

Hah!
