Gosh, am I the only one posting on DW? I thought everybody'd moved over.

Random number generator gave me Pent. How about... what do you think of his role on the national stage in Etruria? Alternatively, what's the secret to his and Louise's successful marriage?

They did. But then we kept cross-posting, and people didn't like it when the LJ comments were disabled, and people are still logged into LJ for contests and such, so commenting over there out of habit was possible...

FWIW I prefer LJ.

I think he's kind of marginalized, actually. The house remains influential because that's how society works, but Pent personally used up his leverage in getting Cecilia installed as Mage General. He doesn't much care, though.

Alternatively, what's the secret to his and Louise's successful marriage?

Giving each one another a bit of space to pursue interests... hobby-wise and otherwise.

Abel. I know you've got some thoughts here. :-)

Abel was the son of a respectable middle-class town cleric and a soldier who abandoned the family and/or died when Abel was a child. His mother was very pleased to get her only son a place as a trainee knight. Abel is a little less of a hardcore monarchist that, say, Cain, who is from a knightly family (Jagen's nephew in my headcanon); he's an Altean patriot but without quite the same personal attachment to Marth as Cain and Gordin had. Abel and Palla had an affair during the War of Darkness, but Palla kind of clammed up afterward and was sending what Abel interpreted as mixed signals, so he doesn't understand the depth of her feelings. He fell head-over-heels for Est when the Peg Sisters stopped in Altea on their way back to Macedon from that FE2 "vacation" and Est married him that year and never returned to Macedon.

They never reunite.

Cain and Abel interest me for this reason; IIRC, this is the only time in the FE series that the red-and-green "brothers" have been permanently sundered.
