I think he's kind of marginalized, actually. The house remains influential because that's how society works, but Pent personally used up his leverage in getting Cecilia installed as Mage General. He doesn't much care, though.
Alternatively, what's the secret to his and Louise's successful marriage?
Giving each one another a bit of space to pursue interests... hobby-wise and otherwise.
