FE Exchange, Food, Miscellany
Nov. 26th, 2010 03:58 pm All right! Already 300+ words into the
fe_exchange prompt. Thank goodness I was given one that made me think, as soon as I saw it, "I know where I'd go with that one."

My contributions to Thanksgiving Dinner were Yam Pie (a Fannie Farmer recipe from an actual book-- the one you see on the 'Net isn't the same) and Candied Sweet Potatoes glazed in muscovado sugar goo... I mean, syrup. They both turned out beautifully, even with the usual substitutions and tinkering. My most excellent spouse contributed a cooked cranberry-apple-orange sauce that turned out nicely even though we couldn't find any oranges at 10:30 on Wednesday night and he had to use tangerines. Couldn't find Granny Smith Apples, either, and ended up using Braeburns. Usually he makes an uncooked cranberry-orange relish, but I think I liked this sweeter, saucier version much better.

Hey, Serenes Forest took down all the character ages for FE3 when they revamped the page! Granted, they were all based on the novelization and some of them were obviously wrong (hello, Rickard), but that was better than zip-zero-nada. And archive.org doesn't have any data from 2009-2010, so I guess that info is just lost.

Spent Thanksgiving night with my husband playing Shadow of the Colossus (look, we didn't have a PS2 for ages). Talk about nightmare fuel. Gee, why do I get the feeling something really bad is going to happen?
