It's sad that the first thing that comes to mind upon the announcement of a new SSB game is "drama." :/
I say F all the malcontents out there ("Melee is so much better balanceddd than Brawl!", "no wavedashing now waah", etc.); I just want to play the game. :D
The sad part is that most people who argue mindlessly for or against tiers ("tiers are the only way to judge one's self worth!" vs "TIERZ R 4 QUEERZ LUL") are the people for whom the notion of tiering will never, ever apply. From everything I've gathered, tiering is a way to predict relative success of a match-up between players of equal skill playing different characters. The end result, of course, being that casual players like, for example, myself have little reason to worry about tiers at all, as even a moderate skill gap can result in a win using a "low-tier" character against someone even of Meta Knight's caliber. (I have so much fun laying the smack down with Ganondorf XP)
