FE12: Picture Time!

 In which we rank the guys and gals of FE12 for that all-important character trait-- hotness.

Shota Tier:

Ryan.  Adorable.  Yubello is sickeningly cute, but Ryan is perfect.

Legal Tier:

11) Samto.  Looks like a fun-time dude, oh yes.  Thick as a brick, but nice on the eyes.

10) Cain.  New Cain is win.  Mind you, I liked the younger version, too.  He appears to have some personality besides "aggrieved" here.

9) Gordin.  Massive improvement over the weak-chinned kiddy of FE11.  Love the little bits of hair at his ears....

8) Astram.  We're rating on looks, not personality here.  He's cute.  He's just a dickhead.

7) Navarre.  Yeah, he's sexy.  I never disputed that.

6) Merric.  I love the DS depictions of Merric.  He looked... weird... in the earlier games.  Too cocky, or something... but he looks like he has some depth to him now.  He looks like the game events have done something to him.

5) Rody.  He's just really sweet and sensitive and awww.  I wanna cuddle him.

4) Marth.  Probably the best iteration to date, which is good since chicks are blatantly chasing him in this game.  I wasn't sure what to expect from adult!Marth after the head-spinning transition from FE3 to FE11, but I'm pretty pleased with what we got here. 

3) Michalis.  Too pretty to die, clearly.

2) Wolf.  Same goes for Pretty Boy Wolfie.  Sedgar's not too shabby either this time, but the leader of the pack takes the prize.

1) Samson.  Oh, my god.  Sheema is one fortunate woman.  He was pretty good-lookin' in FE11, but this time, he's the runaway winner.

Fail Tier:

Tomas.  Just because.  

WTF tier:

Horace.  Loved him in FE11, but he's not doin' it for me this time.  He looks uncomfortable-- maybe it's just the screen cap.  There are subtle little differences between this and his mug shot from FE11 that are off-putting.

Honorable mention: I think Abel and Ogma look pretty much the same as in FE11.  And that's fine, but neither of them are anywhere close to Michalis-and-Samson levels of OMG.

I have to admit that I am liking the style of the new game. But big points for Samson getting upgraded from 'that hero guy you can get instead of Arran' to 'man candy'.

If plot significance were based on looks, the entire game would be about Samson. He looks like a game hero, doesn't he? Sequel, please? *_*

But, yeah. And I usually don't recruit him 'cause I'd rather have a Silver Lance than whatever it is he comes with.

My list would be in a slightly different order, but involves most of the same characters. At least one thing that can be said about this game is that a fair number of the characters are nice to look at. :D

Merric actually. I don't know why, but there is something that I just really like about his portrait.

I love what they did to Merric. That portrait smacked me in the face and made me want to contemplate him more as a character worth writing. He was fine in FE11, but here he looks troubled and... I don't know, but it works.
