Since tumblr sux for archiving things, I made a little series of posts on tumblr regarding what I call the "baby cavaliers" and I may as well link to it here.

For reference, these are the babby cavaliers:

With bonus essays on Geoffrey and possibly Noah (not yet posted).

I forgot that Franz and Amelia have a future-knight!daughter if paired. This is a second-gen character I would not mind existing! I always classed Amelia to the knight>general path because I love my tanks, hahah. Plus you can stick her in front of the notoriously-squishy Franz to protect him and that's cute in its own right.

Obligatory Lowen response: the whole "outclassed Marcus as best knight" thing does seem dissonant, but for what it's worth there is an unnamed cook in FE6 who apparently makes it his mission to make sure that everyone likes their meals. :P I always just figured Lowen suffered a career-ending injury in the knight business but stuck around as resident chef. So if this is true he does end up catering to the welfare of small sad children. And also Perceval.

Lol @ Lord Geoffrey. By that logic, Boyd and Nephenee are also lords.

Radiant Dawn just had some complicated required character shenanigans.

But I'm sure I'm preaching to the choir.

Anyway I never thought about Geoffrey in that light, but it does make a lot of sense.

I'd been pondering Geoffrey for some time in that sense but an FE10 lover did nudge me in the right direction. The more I dug up on him the more it worked, though.

Noah seems to kinda sorta fit the role in FE6 but that'll take some pondering.

Curious, did you ever come to a conclusion on Noah? I'm thinking of writing a support set with him and any light shed on the character would help!

Noah's a strange one. For all that I've most often seen him mentioned in a romantic context re: Fir, overall he's as bleak as any refugee from the SNES era. Ilian life is cheap, people die, better have one of those death letters ready, btw your friend is dead, :| :| :|

It is hard to draw a direct line from him to the likes of Lowen and Franz. I still think he's the closest thing to a babby cavalier in FE6 and he fits some of the territory but as a link from, say, Calion to Lowen? Uh...

Yeah, he gets a big asterisk next to his status. Geoffrey is way way way easier to fit into the picture.

Yeah, that makes sense. None of the FE6 cavaliers seem to display the same kind of... earnestness would be how I'd describe it, I guess? But I guess you get that in different shades from characters like Ogier and Wolt, so idk.
