mark_asphodelGod, I love Chapter 10. Favorite chapter in this game, hands-down.
With a matured party, there's not so many stand-out moments of awesomeness or suck to go around. Every character does his or her part by this point and does it pretty efficiently, so by this point I'm enjoying smooth and elegant gameplay instead of setting up support chains and crossing my fingers. It's a pleasant break before the Final chapter sics falcoknights from hell on us. I had so much fun I barreled right into the next chapter once 10 wrapped up and didn't pause for about six turns in.
Oh, yes.
EVERYBODY PROMOTED.
Even Sharlow hit Lvl 30. At Lvl 30, he's got capped MCG and a respectable enough 45 HP, whereas Elite!Corple was an iron child with a mere 17 Magic. Either way, they promoted fast... dunno what a non-Elite staffkiddy is like and I guess I'll have to find out the hard way. But in Chapter 10 I also promoted Faval, Johalva, Ulster, and Delmud, and poor little Patty ended up just shy of Lvl 20 and had to wait until the final chapter. So now I have a sweet little Thief Fighter!Patty, yay.Took long enough.
On the romance front, Lester and Patty hooked up in the opening phase of Ch 10, right after their truly awful dialogue:
Lester:
Hey, Patty. You're looking lovely as usual.
Patty:
Lester... put a lid on it.
Lester:
Geez... Why're you such a grouch all the time?
Patty:
I just get tired of you teasing me, Lester. That's all.
Lester:
Do I do that?
Patty:
Yeah, you do. You don't even treat me like the other girls.
Lester:
You're a girl!?
Patty:
...you creep!!
Lester:
Hey, it's just a joke... C'mon, don't get so angry. I'm sorry, okay?
I guess I just sort of like you, that's all. So I just sort of... you know.
Patty:
What do you mean, you 'like' me!?
Lester:
'Like' as in 'not hate'! Need me to repeat it!?
Wow. I'm charmed by that dynamic, how 'bout you all? Aideen raised the Gen2 boy who most nearly qualifies as a jackass. Arthur's problematic, but Arthur is kind of, you know, feral? Lester had a mom and two decent male role models and still acts like this. Must've sucked to be Lana growing up.
Meanwhile, Aless married Laylea to the surprise of no one, and then almost at the end of the chapter when we're closing in on Chalphy I realize Faval married Tinny. Wow. Tinny gets strange once the other ladies are taken and she has the field to herself. Goes for Delmud, goes for Faval... well, as long as she's not marrying Ced I can't complain. And Ulster is single forever, hah. Poor sap.
Statwise, just about everyone's capped out. What do we have?
Seliph: LvL 30, not quite as good in any stat than my previous playthrough. Hmm. At least he has Tyrfing for some massive boosts.
Shanan: My last Shanan was blessed in STR/DEF, this one's more a SKL/SPD specialist.
Jamke!Ulster: Lvl 23, as good or better than the equivalent Noish!Ulster in every stat, with a ten-point HP gain. Noish!Ulster wasn't bad, but this is definitely better and the skillset's wonderful.
Holyn!Faval: Less HP than Jamke!Faval, but he's not topped out yet and oh, by the way-- 27 SKL. Yay. He hits stuff.
Leif: Lvl 30. He's Leif. He's a monster. Better than Seliph in every way except for mediocre Lck and no holy weapon. Too bad the last part really counts.
Johalva: Lvl 21, better STR and SKL than last time but worst DEF. He's not much use in Final, regardless.
Sharlow: See above.
Ced: It's Lewyn!Ced. He's Level 30. Nothin' to say, really, beyond that he nuked Ishtar. He is to be my anti-Julia line of defense with the Sleep and Silence staves.
Alec!Delmud: After promotion he's finally packing a respectable 50 HP otherwise he's a good unit. Not a great one, and lack of ranged swords hurts. Dew!Delmud got some mileage out of the Thunder Sword but Alec!Del has a miserable 2 MCG. He's not a liability, though.
Finn: Lvl 30. Had an obscene level lead in Ch 7 and so has held up quite well. Better STR/DEF than my last playthrough-- hell, better STR than anyone but Leif, Johalva, and AyraTwins-- but that 47 HP is laughable compared with the kids.
Finn!Lester: Lvl 29. Had a run of good SPD boosts and is making me very happy. Solidly in that Leif/Nanna/Arthur/Fee category of "Well, no holy weapon but the job gets done." Worse STR than his father, though-- Lester, what's up with that? Aideen's not supposed to pass on negative growths, is she?
Hannibad: Not used, no comment.
Ares: Can't compare him to my last Ares 'cause that one died. Actually dies a fair amount this time. 24 STR and 19 DEF seem lousy for a Holy Warrior. Good thing he has RES.
Lex!Arthur. The mage who can't do magic has bad MCG, meh SPD, decent RES, and 63 HP to cushion him before Wrambush kicks in. Let's see how he does in Final.
Oifaye: Lvl 23, about the same as last time, which is to say, "Not great, not terrible." Supports Fee, though.
Holyn!Patty: Yay, I have a cute little gutter fighter now. Final analysis forthcoming.
Jamke!Larcei: Buncha capped stats at Lvl 23. All I ask of her now is killing those goddamned falcoknights.
Finn!Lana: Lvl 30. Walking arsenal of staves with the ability to defend herself with a C-grade tome. No complaints, aside from the fact she never gave Seliph a lovers' crit when he was fighting Arvis.
Altena: Lvl 30, looks like a standard Altena. 70 HP isn't bad but she still is compromised by her class and lack of RES.
Lewyn!Fee: Lvl 27, better in general than last time's Lewyn!Fee. Good STR, better MCG... worse DEF, though. That does show.
Lex!Tinny: Lvl 30. 63 HP lolololol. And 15 DEF. Girl does some damage with a Wind Sword.
Laylea, Lvl 19 and still made from tissue paper, but I generally have been able to use her without killing her.
Alec!Nanna: Lvl 30 Paladin Tank Girl, basically the same exact thing that Dew gave me but with way worse Lck.
In short, I feel we're in great shape to take on Grannvale and whatever it has to offer. Let's see how Lex!Tiltykids like dealing with Dark Warlords, shall we?

Problem is, I have no video recording software so I have to do a text-based LP with pictures, and that's really tedious to do. Also, I can't upload it to the web because the file is too big. Great.
