FE13: Now starring female!Robin

OK.  So I decided to do a new runthrough of FE13, with a female Avatar married to Chrom plus some other different pairings just to see what was up with some of the endgame developments if Chrom and Robin are married.  I made her look kind of like Deirdre because I could.

Reaction #1) Boy, once you know how Pair Up works it's easy to break this game.  I mean, it's Chapter Six and already I have characters at A and B support.  And since I'm using the Barracks and collecting my Renown awards this time (which I didn't do last time until waaaaaay late in the proceedings) I have all this neat stuff now.
Reaction #2) I find myself skipping through all the earlygame story-related cutscenes because I have no patience for them this time around.   
Reaction #3) Holy wow do I dislike the personality they gave female Robin.  Especially in her supports with Chrom.  She walks in on him when he's naked, so she starts throwing things at him?  Oh, that's so cute and sweet and funny.  What a lovely couple. No, seriously, she just hits so many points of a Type of person I cannot stand.  
Reaction #4) OMG Sully and Sumia are as darling together as everyone said.  How.  Cute.

When I do runthrough #3 featuring a male!Robin/Lucina pairing (again, to see how that impacts stuff), I will do this on Easy Casual, I think.  Just to blast through it.

re: #3 - that nixed the pairing for me, the way Sumia's conversations did. That doesn't look like marriage material to me. Not many of these do, frankly, but the bonding between Henry and Olivia fits the bill more closely than Chrom/Avatar. Even Sumia's... thing does.

Honestly, female!Robin just seems like a pretty horrible person.

I'll likely talk about this more later, but Male My Unit is very droll for me because I was able to make him look exactly like a young version of a major character (Dojima) from Persona 4, and it's all the funnier because the "Male 3" voice may very well be Dojima's English voice actor. (If not, it's very close.) So I'm solving Ylisse's problems with a cop from Earth's near future. (I find myself wondering if the character designer put in those options on purpose; the resemblance is that uncanny.)

Yeah, I hate everything I've seen from fem!MU. I had been thinking of going with her in my file, but I just don't want to. At least male MU doesn't seem like a total ass in most of his supports so far.

IIRC, FeMU's supports with Henry are pretty good, or at least they were to me. Also, something disappointing that I noticed was that the parent/sibling supports are the exact same with the exception of the "Lucina meets Mom" scene. I've only done it so far with Sumia and Sully, but it's different both times. Sully's a little more accepting of the idea that Lucina is her Daughter From The Future.

Yeah. It's imperfect, but they tried about 800% more with the parent/child thing than they did in FE4, which gave us "Lewyn rejects his son and daughter by Fury" at one end of the spectrum and "Finn creeps out his long-lost daughter(s)" at the other. Some of the canned parent-child dialogues work very well in FE13... some less so... but again it's an improvement over the last time they tried this sort of system.

Yeah, I appreciate that they tried, but some variation in that would be something I'd like.

I did like trying to see which father or sibling the supports best fitted. In my opinion, the Lucina/Sister C Support works much better with Cynthia than Kjelle; and having Lon'qu as Inigo's father adds a bit of irony to his personality seeing as both of his parents are so awkward.
