In Defense of Rarepairs
Sep. 2nd, 2010 06:13 pm Dear 'Fic Author:
Archanea and Tellius are not tastes that go well together. At all. And your font hurts my eyes.
Thanks,

OK. Now that I have THAT off my chest, I have something inspired by a plotbunny-- or rather, a pairing bunny-- belonging to
shining_valor .
Put simply, why can't we have Eliwood/Isadora? Seriously, if you A-support Hector with Eliwood, Eli's twoo wuv Ninian says bye-bye and there's no rule that says Eliwood has to marry either Lyn or Fiora. And it's beyond dispute that Eliwood and Hector each get involved with ladies and produce heirs. So why not Isadora? She might get a better reception than an Ilian mercenary, after all. And while we're at it, why not Hector/Serra? I'm sure Hector doesn't believe Serra's "my noble heritage" backstory for one second, but imagine him using that as a cover story for the Ostian court. Imagine them getting caught in the lie. Ooh.
Same deal with Eirika and Tana. If you A-support them, their joint ending mentions their respective children... but it doesn't say who the fathers of these kids are. You don't have to stick to the support-network options, do you? Really? Not that Eirika doesn't have a diverse pool of suitors, but is Tana really limited to a) Respectability with Ephraim and b) Something Else with Cormag?
I dunno. I have no point beyond that thinking outside the box is good. Unless you're doing a Tellius/Archanea crossover that kind of fails in the first paragraph.
