Childhood Memories

 So, I attended an out-of-state wedding today and met up with family members whom I have not seen in more than two years.  I attempted to play my chosen role of "eccentric relative from over the mountains," but most of my family are so poorly socialized by even rudimentary standards of etiquette that part of my eccentricity included saying hello to familiar faces and introducing myself to some unfamiliar ones.  My excellent spouse did a rather better job of the hellos-and-introductions thing than I did, I must admit, but at least I realized there was something odd in not even acknowledging the people you are eating dinner with-- around a circular table, no less.  My family are an insular bunch, and I am the weirdo who decided to cut loose and seek my fortune elsewhere.  Anyway, I am glad I attended this particular wedding at least, and observing the family dynamics, the additions and deletions, was interesting.

Anyhow, whilst killing time in the hotel room and reading cracked.com, I came across this:

If the Fire Emblem anime had been completed, it would have been an eight-villain list, but never mind.  Numero uno on the list is that bane of my preschool imagination, Tirek.  Ah, Tirek!  What a horror of an antagonist, for a film about pastel magical ponies.  Yes, and the Power of Darkness and all that good stuff.  Having my memory jogged re: Tirek and his dragon chariot makes me sorely tempted to write a Fire Emblem/My Little Pony crossover.  Hey, there are pegasi in both, and dragons in both, and little girls who ride pegasi in both, so why not?  sacae , are you listening to me?  :)

Was the food good? :D I mean, it was a wedding, but you never know.

Now all we need to do is figure out how to incorporate Care Bears into Fire Emblem. I think it could be done-- in Tellius. I suppose Archanea and Elibe would be harder nuts to crack.

Food was pretty good, cake was nice. The focaccia was wonderful-- my mother's youngest brother, an award-winning amateur baker, raved about it and he was right.

I think that the Care Bears come down to earth to intervene whenever there's a lot of hate and negative stuff going on down on earth. So, any given FE offers plenty of that.

I think it could be done-- in Tellius.

Yeah, and Magvel and Valencia are already used to weird critters showing up. "Oh, hey... LIGHT creatures? What god do these things serve?"

I suppose Archanea and Elibe would be harder nuts to crack.

Oh, dear lord. I'm glad I can't figure out a way to insert them into Archanea-- now I'm imagining a rainbow-hued Care Bear intervention in Chapter 13 of FE11, complete with a song-and-dance number about "Hate is Wrong!"

Also, I have been horrible enough to draw pictures of the DragonBall Z cast interacting with various ponies (which will hopefully NEVER see the light of day). And let's not get started on the various Fire Emblem/Pokémon crossover ideas I've had, one of which is definitely getting written just for the humor aspect.

BUT BACK TO PONIES. Not that I have the Midnight Castle movie or anything. Uhm. OF COURSE NOT. Herp derp, of course I do! I never really thought of crossing FE with My Little Pony (too seriously, hurr hurr), but the temptation mostly rests in making Hector interact with one...
