Drink Post!
Oct. 16th, 2012 08:05 pmOn my latest run to the friendly local liquor store I acquired a lot of specialty wine, including a bottle of redcurrant wine.
This is significant because I'd wanted to have me some redcurrant wine ever since I read Anne of Green Gables, on account of the chapter wherein Anne and Diana get smashed on "raspberry cordial." The best-tasting raspberry cordial ever. Which turned out to be redcurrant wine.
Redcurrant wine is pretty nice. It can't be confused with grape wine, but it's not too sweet and paired well with dinner (pumpkin-filled pasta in browned butter sage sauce).
So, if Marilla had to stop making redcurrant wine after that unfortunate incident with the drunken girls, it's a damn shame.
