RL has been kicking my ass of late. I'm behind on a lot. So here's something brief.
Hurricane Chris has, as far as I can tell, a solitary contribution to FE fandom-- "When Swords Cross," a Celice/Nanna romance. Rarepair interest aside, it's an ambitious piece-- thirteen chapters, most of it post-war. And it's actually complete!
As far as writing quality goes, I'd say it's what I used to deem pretty standard fanfic-level writing-- not perfect by any means, but something I'd have been willing to plow through for the sake of character bias. Hurricane Chris also obviously knows the source material and assumes that the reader does as well-- this is not a 'fic for someone newly introduced to Jugdral. However, I do have to give the guy props for actually bothering to develop this romance, instead of making it your typical Fire Emblem "three conversations equals true love!" shortcut mess. Also have to give the guy props for committing to and finishing such an ambitious piece, knowing on the front end it was a rarepair and wouldn't get him much positive attention.
Points off for having Leaf get jealous and act like a dick in Chapter 4 though. I agree with one of the reviewers that I didn't buy that scene.

Date: 2012-09-29 07:32 pm (UTC)IIRC, he does an all-right Celice. Celice just isn't the most juicy character in the FE-verse to write. :/

EDIT: To clarify, he RP'd Celice, too.

Date: 2012-10-01 02:36 am (UTC)In general his short project was that, short but direct, but he characterize Celice 'Outsideness'(he was never groomed as a 'proper' lord unlike his counterparts, except Hector) and how putting him direct as Emperor can make him change as characther, and keep good drama anyway.
Still this fic show love for the universe and was a very good job anyway.
