Wanted: Non-Sucky Bow Knight

I deleted one of my FE4 save files and started over.  I was already on Silesia and had put a fair amount of effort into it, so why would I trash it?

Because one of the pairings I'd completed was Midayle/Aideen, and like HELL I'm putting up with Midayle!Lester for another round of Gen2.  

There has to be something better.  Right?  Right?  PLEASE.

And I just finished the Prologue, so I need to start working on that Aideen romance now or she's gonna end up with Midayle again.  :P

Depends on what you consider an improvement. Some earlier comment's suggestion of Beowulf/Edain seems like the only sane alternative, trading in some strength for some of Midayle's speed, and keeping Pursuit. The other options that help out Lester's strength universally lack pursuit, which is just about a dealbreaker I'd think.

Midayle really is imo the best or near-best option. If you don't like Lester there, I doubt you'll like him much better any other way. But by all means, give Beo a try. :P

I wonder what that'll do to Lana. They're a mismatched set of kids, and most of the pairings favor Lana at her brother's expense (Azel, Claude).

I'll try to keep her single until Ch 2. It's... been hard.

Haha oh man, Claude/Edain is like, the most unfortunate pairing. If Rana got Valkyrie instead of Lester, it would be a completely different story, but as it is? Man.

Honestly I think Midayle!Rana is pretty reasonable. Beowulf!Rana will probably be okay, too.

But anyway, I doubt you're going to ever really embrace Lester, if you hated him so much with Midayle as a daddy. Beowulf is better by a margin as a father. As an average at level 30: 7 more hp, 4 more str and skl, 3 less spd, 4 more luk, and you don't get to pass on bows. The last is a bit of a blow, since Lester's most useful timeframe is the early game by far. Once you're waving around Holy Weapons, well.
