Four Down, One to Go (FE4) / Tiamo

mark_asphodelAll right. Conquered... er, liberated... Silesia last night. One more romp to go for the Gen1 cast!
Promoted Lachesis is the new OMGWTF unit of wonder and dependable kills. I knew she was great after promotion, but it has to be seen to be believed. Holsety!Levin is less of a shock because he was already amazing.
Sigurd is really good, but I guess I'm not abusing him enough, because while he's definitely one of my best units, he really hasn't been solo-the-game material the last two chapters. I can't send him out to take on six or seven enemies at once and expect a positive outcome. Gameplay in Silesia was aaaaaall about teamwork and coordination and lovers' bonuses. And Sylvia.
Speaking of lovers, all my match-ups finally materialized at the end of Chapter 4. So you remember what playthrough this is:
Aideen/Midir (so easy it makes itself)
Aira/Noish (took a bit of work)
Lachesis/Dew (difficult and time-consuming)
Fury/Levin (I was surprised at how long this took, all things considered, but it didn't take so long their auto-love conversation was triggered, so I guess things went well)
Sylvia/Nobody (I have to keep an eye on her, as all the single guys now seem to be thinking of her).
Tiltyu/Finn (I'd say this was the hardest to achieve except that you either get it or you don't in one half of one chapter and you don't have to keep working at it. That alone makes it less annoying than Lachesis/Dew.)
Briggid/Jamka (I was intending to pair her with Holyn. Jamka and Briggid had different ideas despite not having "met" one another yet. The pre-set love growths sometimes conquer all, or get close enough that the player gives in to fate.)
As far as the leftover dudes go... Lex promoted and is a respectable, dependable unit. Holyn is pretty darned good even if he's prone to be dogpiled and killed. Ditto for Beowulf (giving him the Wing Clipper led to some nice results). Azel has fallen behind... again... despite all my attempts to make him shine in Silesia thanks to the W-T-F magic triangle. Claude is a staffbot. Alec gets guard duty and Ardan's benched from here on out. If I forgot anyone there is probably a reason I forgot them.
Sitting through NPC battles is very dull. I appreciate that the Mahnya/Pamela slaughterfest gave me time to Return/Warp half my army back to Sailane, but it strikes me as a tedious solution to a design flaw, not as something positive.
Lamia's all-female merc squad was the biggest PITA this chapter, I think. Hero swords are a bad thing in enemy hands.

Finally blocked "Tiamo" on tumblrsavior. Her fanbase is possibly the single creepiest phenomenon I've witnessed in FE to date, and I just don't get it. I get it when dragonloli people are creepy over Nono and her kid, or catgirl people are creepy over Lethe and Lyre. It's a fetish. It's... expected. But this entire Tiamo thing-- of all the characters to self-insert!ship, why her? What about this red-haired Catria knockoff is so compelling that you have all these people mooning over "my lovely wife Tiamo" and posting about how she's having their babies? Without even the filter of the Tactician that marks Lynshipping, it just comes across as very, very weird.
And no, people making jokes about their fictional-character husbands and wives can be cute and funny. Nothing about this Tiamo phenomenon comes across as funny; it's too reverent to be funny.
