Writing fake novel excerpts for the purposes of fiction, or fake history books, or even fake song lyrics here and there... doable. Fake epic poetry, even terza rima poetry? Man, not my strong point.

Juggling my non-entry for the fe_contest "Crossover" challenge with the fe_fest stuff. Yipes. Deadline, deadlines.

FE4 is pretty darned fun. Though I should start trolling message boards, pointing out that every other entry in the series is Doing It Wrong with regard to promotional items, money management, arena abuse, weapon allocation, and weapon repair, and are thus not Real Fire Emblem. As frustrating as it is to not freely trade stuff, especially stuff acquired from bosses, overall I like the FE4 system. I'm actually using the arenas instead of ignoring them as a death trap.
Anyway, I got two-thirds of the way though Chapter 3. Silvail fell on the 25th turn, and now Brigid, Claude, and Tiltyu are being pursued by PIRATES! and such.
Status Update!
Cuan. I sent you to that village because you were the only one with the MOV to reach it besides Finn, and he was juggling that squadron of lance knights. It took you three turns to kill that bandit. One bandit. That was pathetic. Please stop sucking. I guess I'm glad you're sturdy enough not to die on me anymore.
I completely understand the love, adoration, and joy-wank heaped over Levin, Holyn, and Aira now. Yes, I see it. I believe it. Aira is not, in fact, another frustrating little myrmidon. I appreciate Lex now that he has his Hero Axe and can kill things. Most of the time, anyway. He did some really nifty work for me during the conquest of Madino, though he only made it out of there alive thanks to the Libro Staff and Sylvia.
Sylvia. Man, is she useful. Love those SNES-era dancers.
Azel continues to disappoint, which is bad given how much I need him to battle the PIRATES! He and Ethlin are the king and queen of RNG screwage in this playthrough. He doesn't dodge. He can't take a hit. If he didn't double, he'd be benched at this stage.
Speaking of benched, Alec is reaching the limits of his apparent usefulness, though he and Noish are being pulled off guard duty to battle PIRATES! around Madino.
Jamka and Midir continue to make me very happy. Midir took out Papilon and has some nice new swag to show for it.
Lachy has her Earth Sword now. The Cross Knights were really a pushover; Sigurd's army is mostly in good shape and well-equipped, so Elto's forces just didn't feel like much of a threat. The PIRATES! seem a lot more annoying.
I tried various "recommended" strategies against Shagall. Cuan, Ethlin, Lex, and Sigurd were the guys who stormed Silvail, with Ayra and Holyn behind them. None of them could take out Shagall; I'd planned to use Aira but she and Holyn were pretty badly wounded, and I was already on turn count 24 and wanted that castle seized as efficiently as possible. Ethlin couldn't heal either Aira or Holyn fully in one turn, and she was mostly there to lend "support" to Cuan anyway. So on instead I threw Cuan (silver spear), Lex (Hero Axe), and Sigurd (silver sword) at Shagall in succession. Cuan got reduced to 7 HP, Lex to 10, Sigurd to low double-digits, and Chagall was standing there laughing at them. He healed up to nearly full health on the enemy phase.
Well, by this point Finn was all done helping Jamka, Midir, and Levin deal with that pesky group of dragonknights, so I sent him in to see what would happen. Three hits later, Shagall was dead, and Finn came out of there without a scratch and with a nice new silver blade he can't use or pass to his nonexistent kids. I hope he gets to keep his money because he'll have a lot after I take half his weapons away at the end of this chapter.
[He's managed to develop feelings for Aira, I'm not sure how. THAT ain't gonna be permitted.]
And now comes the lovely part where I get to try to keep Brigid, Claude, and Tiltyu all alive in spite of themselves. Tiltyu has already reminded me of how much I dislike her.
OTOH, Cuan has the Gae Bolg now. Maybe that will finally let him live up to his reputation.

As BS as I find Thracia 776 to be, when compared to something like Sonic Adventure DX, so much is forgiven. You want BS? The QA team there appears to have been run by Catbert.
