Did a Chapter Two marathon of FE4 last night for no very good reason.  Maybe I was addicted to the Sigurd-phase music, which I loved.

The eugenics program is coming along nicely.  Aideen and Midir got married around the time I seized Macbeth's castle.  Lachesis (who oh-so-coincidentally comes with 10K gold in her pockets) walked up to Beowulf as sweet as you please before I even offed Voltz and has been trying to stick with him ever since despite Dew running interference with that Thief Sword.  Levin has been fending off Sylvia's advances (not well, I might add) and Lex and Ayra are well on their way to tying the knot.

Azel is breaking my heart.  At Level 12, he has 12 Mag, 10 Skl, 13 Spd, 4 Lck, 4 Def, 8 Res.  Levin, at Lvl 10.96, has 2 Str, 14 Mag, 12 Skl, 20 Spd, 7 Lck, 6 Def, and 9 Res... and is obviously about to get better.  (No, Azel has no Strength, are you kidding me?  Never mind that he gets a sword on promotion.)  Azel, baby, keep this crap up and I may not let you marry Tiltyu.  I hear that Prayer/Wrath combo can do some amazing things for Tinny, hint hint.  I gave him the Magic Ring to help him along, but at this rate he's gonna need more rings, and the arena isn't working out for him very well.

Levin lives up to the hype, as does Aira.  As does Holyn, thus far.  Color me impressed.

Lex got better (as in, usable) once he acquired the Hero Axe.   Noish got unusable by the time I took on the Agusty forces in Ch 2 and he's been relegated to guard duty.  Good lookin' and decent fellow but he can't double and at this point, given what the enemies are packing, his durability's not what it was.  Alec is holding up better, and I tried to make use of his Awareness skill against Zyne, but he may also be reaching his limits.  And his Lck is a horrible 4.  Reminds me of Abel in FE11 in that regard.  It may be the loser stat but lack of it can still get you killed.

Cuan... I don't know why SF rated him as a 9/10 type character recently.  I guess getting his holy weapon will make him good, because up to now he's been closer to the 4/10 rating FESS gave him back in the day.  I get more use from Ethlin at this point.

Jamka and Midir are both really good units thus far.  I've been surprised at just how good.

Sigurd's gotten himself killed a couple of times (Elliot and such) but remains a solid front-line unit, thank goodness.  Siggy's packing 17 Str, 17 Skl, 16 Spd, 9 Lck, 13 Def, 3 Res and he's just shy of Level 15.  Better than any other mounted melee unit on the premises, save one.

Yeah, so part of the game plan in Ch2 was to level up Finn so I could promote him, not for selfish reasons but because I didn't want a liability on my hands come Chapter 7.  And at this point, if he somehow gets himself "sent home," I can pretty much say, "No prob kiddo, see you after the time skip."  Let's see... 19 Str, 1 Mag, 19 Skl, 20 Spd, 18 Lck, 20 Def, and 3 Res thanks to the promotion bonus he just got 'cause he's 21.49 now.  And the point of Mag wasn't a bonus; the RNG goddess apparently likes Finn as much as she hates Azel.  His exploits in Southern Agustria included good work against Elliot's goons, receiving the Hero Lance, taking out Voltz (yay Elite Ring), annihilating a squadron of Agusty troops (against whom poor Noish was useless), blasting through the arena and recruiting Holyn, taking out Zyne in two hits after Azel softened him up, then using Zyne's Horseslayer against Zyne's own squadron, and finally charging uphill to deal with those pesky ballistae.  I would be remiss not to mention support work from Beowulf in the latter half of this chapter; it seems that, in the wank over Lachesis, nobody bothers to mention that Finn and Beowulf make a tag team every bit as good as Sigurd and Cuan (early on, of course), or Red Cav/Green Cav anywhere.  One's got the lance, one's got the sword, they both have Pursuit, everything dies.

I wasn't planning to pair Finn 'cause I didn't want to be at a disadvantage re: weaponry in Chapter 7, but at this point I'm starting to reconsider.  Maybe he can make do with an Iron Lance after all... and I've heard intriguing things about both Tiltyu and Briggid matchups.

I did not get the Knight Ring.  Lachy's minions are dumb SOBs and I let them die after several attempts to contain their suicidal stupidity.  Go to hell, guys-- I think you idiots cost me a village.  Lachy herself is faring well and if I can scrape together a bit more gold that Elite Ring is going to her.  I want her promoted by the beginning of Chapter 4.

I should probably abstain from gaming today.  I was up past 3 AM.  @_@

"Lion King Eltoshan" is a beautiful track. Serenes has the orchestral remixes of FE4's chapter music, I believe.

They do, and that remix in particular is especially beautiful :D

Also, am I the only one who keeps Lachesis away from the front lines (and train her like crazy with staffs) just to make sure Eve, Eva and Alva don't get themselves killed ? (From what I've seen, from the moment she's recruited, they simply follow her around and attack whatever enemy is in their range ^^) I'm not saying the Knight Ring is an absolute must, but a Dancer with repeated movement is nice (that's what made me love the Herons in FE10).

I do that too. Fortunately, a lot of healing is needed on that chapter.
