- How far did they get in formal education? What are their views on formal education vs self-education?

- Superstitions or views on the occult?
- Do they express their thoughts through words or deeds?
- If they were to fall in love, who (or what) is their ideal?
- How do they express love?
- If this person were to get into a fist fight, what is their fighting style like?
- Is this person afraid of dying? Why or why not?

Date: 2012-01-27 10:42 pm (UTC)I also think that an Eliwood married to Ninian might develop some more arcane interests than an Eliwood married to Lyn, Fiora, or Random Lycian Noblewoman.
Eliwood #39: What recharges him when he's feeling drained? Oh, this ties into the above. Music. I also see Mr. "I bring home Ilian flowers to my bride" as appreciating nature, the seasons, and that sort of transient natural beauty. He'd appreciate a nice walk in the gardens, or a ride through the countryside.

My headcanon Khadein has a pretty vivid cultural life, but I'm not sure if Ellerean is a high culture guy or a low culture guy, or if he'd rather sit out in the desert on a mountain peak and watch the sun set.
I expect he chases thunderstorms for fun, though. Thunder mage and all. Maybe he looks forward to monsoon season all year.
Ellerean #49: Fist-fighting style! I like this. Given his apparent feelings re: nobles like Merric, I suspect he Elly comes from a non-noble and possibly even poor background, and his physical fighting style is distinctly… earthy We're talking a sock-in-the-jaw, punch-to-the-throat type. His battle style re: magic is likely pretty refined and stylish, but put him in a fist-fight and it's gutter brawling all the way. Merric wouldn't stand a chance.

Date: 2012-01-28 03:11 pm (UTC)Biggest and smallest long-term goal? I think it's pretty clear that, in canon, a major long term goal was "Get with Elice." He wants to impress her. He wants to protect her. Is the drive as much spiritual as it is sexual? Would he stick around trying to protect her if she went for somebody else? My headcanon isn't terribly clear there, in part because my headcanon kind of says yuck to the pairing... but it can't be ignored. Elice is, in some fashion, his great long-term project, whether it's just protecting her or finally getting her to notice him. As for the smallest goal, I see Merric as a proto-scientist, and my headcanon often has him chasing a wind-based perpetual motion machine.
Biggest regret? Sadly, I'd say that his regret is that he wasn't able to prevent Elice from suffering the whole kidnapping/soul-shattering ordeal. If his primary motivation is to protect her, he failed at it abysmally. That he saved her from death helps somewhat, but the fact is, she went through hell, and he wasn't there. He'll feel that one for a long time to come. No wonder his FE12 character design is so melancholy compared with earlier renditions of the "mirthful mage."
