No, this isn't about reincarnation or her true gender or anything like that.
Apparently, when Nagi is recruited in FE12, she has some recollection of encountering Marth, or at least finds him familiar. He doesn't remember her, because in the "canon" timeline wherein Tiki was recruited and Gharnef got whacked, there wasn't any trip into unseen dimensions to encounter undead dragon ladies.
Nagi can also sense something "special" about MyUnit, btw. In the Oops-the-Fourth-Wall-Just-Broke kind of sense.
So, given Nagi's pretty much God, how's this work? Does undead amnesiac dragon god lady have access to memories of alternate timelines? Do I have to get into string theory to explain this one (please no)?
[I don't think Nagi/Narga is looking at Marth and remembering, say, Celice either. Narga was really hands-off about dealing with the Jugdral humans. She (yes, SHE) blood-bonded with Saint Heim and hightailed it back home, from the sound of things.]
You've got me, man. Suggestions welcome.

Is it possible that Nagi was awake at an earlier point in Archanea's history? Say, to see Anri?

I'm not comfortable with this explanation, and here's why:
Waking Nagi and getting the Crappy!Falchion is a ploy of last resort, to be used only if Marth screwed up multiple aspects of his little hero quest. Gotoh clearly thinks less of Marth for having to resort to this. Anri didn't screw up. No need to travel to unseen dimensions, no need to wake Nagi, no need to piss off Gotoh.
(Though IMO it appears Anri didn't impress Gotoh the way Marth ultimately did, probably because of the lone-wolf characteristics I mentioned the other day.)
IDK. The Anri explanation just goes against the grain of things a little too much for me to say, "Yeah, that's it."

Date: 2011-09-17 03:03 pm (UTC)Which makes me like the Anri explanation even less.

Date: 2011-09-17 03:05 pm (UTC)Maybe part of Anri's will was stored in Falchion?
