I want to talk headcanon assassinations and conspiracies, but have no idea what to say.  I think it's Raphi who has the Mildain-assassination headcanon, though?  And maybe some others.  Dunno.  Maybe I will mull things over a while.

It sounds like an interesting topic, though! I know the feeling; I feel like I have a lot I want to post about, but I don't know where to begin.

Yeah, it's all very nebulous. Like, one of the points I want to make is about how some conspiracies and cover-ups are born more out of fear than anything else-- I was thinking of a real case in which a national hero died in an accident, and investigators and doctors fudged the records because nobody wanted to take the fall for this guy's demise, and then this makes it seem like a conspiracy to actually murder the guy when nothing could be further from the truth. Nobody wanted him dead-- they just didn't want to be the scapegoat for it! That kind of thing.

And a lot about human error and incompetence.

Headcanon for conspiracies and assassinations? Sounds pretty cool to me!

I must be the only person in the world who thinks Mildain will die some other way, though. Not that I don't think it's a cool idea - because it is.

I've no opinions on Mildain, personally. Get assassinated, dies from effects of the prior assassination attempt, grows old and gets deposed like in Hitomi's 'fic... sure. I can see the point.
