Fic Update and Notes: "Palindrome"

So, this story is not the same thing as this "experiment" from last month. They were worked on simultaneously, but told two parts of the same scenario; the FFnet 'fic features the daughter of Eirika and Saleh in a little coming-of-age story, while the LJ "experiment" featured Ephraim's reaction to his niece once she shows up in Renais.
Basically, I've been batting around the issue of the girl I call "Nada Kuya Jr" for entirely too long, and hopefully finishing this will put her to rest... for a while, anyway. Unless and until I finish Ephraim's side of the story.
Those of you with any interest at all in the magical adventures of Eirika/Saleh spawn may remember this was my original plan for the
fe_contest "Mary Sue" challenge back when that challenge was first issued. That didn't work, so I ended up bashing out "Wings of Love" instead... which worked a lot better than the over-the-top adventures of a Half-Royal Sue in Caer Pelyn. But obviously I couldn't let the idea alone.
[I was hoping for the energy for a last-minute entry to this round's
fe_contest , but that burst of energy went into editing "Palindrome" instead.]
Anyway, it was during my annual re-read of The Poisonwood Bible that the brain-twisting perceptual oddities of the character Adah clicked with me, and so "Zoraya" the Sue mutated into Ada, a hopefully less annoying take on Nada Kuya Jr. At least now she can't use both swords and anima magic.
