Random Roundup
Oct. 19th, 2010 10:05 pm I feel surprisingly bad about the death of Tom Bosley, as he was everywhere in my childhood-- Murder, She Wrote, Father Dowling Mysteries, commercials for trash bags and bug killer. He even got the opportunity to scar a generation of children as the voice of David the Gnome. I always thought Happy Days was schlock (I think it had literally jumped the shark by the time I tuned in), but I've had a soft spot in my heart for the late Mr. Bosley, even if I thought of him as "that guy-- the one from the Glad Bag commercials!"
Wrote 1500 words of FE11 gift-fic today (no, it's not done yet). I hope the recipient likes it, because I doubt anyone else will (non-canon couple, M-rating).
Still no real ideas for Challenge 009. And no progress on my ideas for Challenge 010. Oh well.
Made Orange-Sage Chicken for dinner last night. It's one of my specialties and is much, much easier to make with a gas stove than with an electric one. The sauce bubbled and thickened right on cue instead of taking a quarter of an hour. I love fall food.

Date: 2010-10-20 07:13 pm (UTC)Orange-Sage Chicken is great. It's pretty easy, but the sauce is made with sage, butter, orange juice, and cream, and sometimes it doesn't cook right on an electric stove.

Date: 2010-10-21 02:52 am (UTC)This time around, I made the Orange-Sage chicken with fresh sage from the garden and European butter and served it with Camargue Red Rice. The pomegranate zinfandel was not a good match, though.
