Well, sadly, the reactionary outrage machine is still humming along on a mix of welfare queens, Clinton murder lists, and other things long since debunked, so if the progressive outrage machine has a shelf-life on fraction that long we'll be buried in this for a while to come.
And to clarify, I certainly believe there is a difference between feeling righteous indignation over social issues, particularly if you're affected or involved,
I completely agree.
Again, it's not all or even most of Tumblr, but I'm sure I don't have to explain that it doesn't take much negative energy to outweigh the positive. One fight or rant will stick with you longer than 100 pictures of corgis or cats-- that's just the way we work, unfortunately.
