Miscellany

 Have been Up North at the semi-annual private star party for my astronomy club and have been rained out/clouded out for the first time in three years.  Company is good, so no matter; company is even better because we are staying at a motel and can escape when the lads get drunk and start talking politics.  Amateur astronomers show their ugly side when cloudy skies nudge them to drink.  Am reeling from a dinner loaded with morel mushrooms-- pureed with sherry in the soup, garnishing Frangelico-glazed duckling, twirled with fettucini.  So rich I did not need dessert, and I always need dessert.

Was very interested in a tangent off one of myaru 's recent posts that got into the issues surrounding killing off characters but I am too tired right now.

ETA: Motel was filled with drunken wedding guests whose behavior recalled dismal memories of my freshman-year dormitory experience.  Ah well.
