mark_asphodelY'know, after some of the WTF DLC for FE13, it took a while to get back in a positive mindset about the thing.
I was there in the happy zone for about a week, because Est was pretty cute in a derpy kind of way (appropriate) and the presentation was basically true to her character.
Then Catria showed up. She's wearing waffle fries on her arms, her sleek costume design has been replaced by something that looks like it was acquired from Cirilla's, and she looks really uncomfortable, like maybe she's got chafing under her little skirt from not wearing any underpants. But, oh, it's a modified version of the FE13 Dark Pegasus Knight outfit, so that makes it acceptable. OK.
And now we have Palla. And honestly, she'd just look kind of awkward, what with the odd expression and tiny feet, except that she has this little flap at the front of her outfit exposing her crotch area. What the fuck.
Seriously, people. At this point they could give me smoking hot Innes in a goddamned kilt and I'd still be annoyed by this crap. If they're doing all this to be "faithful" to the FE13 character class designs, they're crappy designs.
See Palla. See Catria. See Est. Just because they're chicks doesn't mean they're not, you know, knights. They show about as much skin as their male counterparts because they're trained, dedicated kickass warrior women who don't go around flashing their crotches to the enemy. And while DLC!Ike turned out fugly, none of the guys have been diminished into these hypersexualized caricatures. I don't see shiny new DLC Eltoshan with the crotch cut out of his pants. DLC Eltoshan was based on his classic TCG design.
And the less said about the new official art for the FE13 originals, the better.
