Picking Apart the FE13 Clues...
Feb. 18th, 2012 10:43 amOK. So, now we have a bit more information. I have "annotated" this by including links to things I find relevant.
Krom: Descendant of the Holy King who saved the world from the Evil Dragon. Leads a vigilante force to conduct an investigation of his neighboring nation when they start acting weird. A man with a strong sense of justice and a skilled swordsman, wielding his nation's treasured sword, the Binding Blade "Falchion", in battle.
[Kid doesn't know you don't bring your holy weapon to the initial fight. I suspect it'll be stolen/broken or he'll be out of commission for some of the game. Might get turned to stone like a certain "Jeigan" character in FE5?]
MyUnit: Found lying unconscious on the ground, has lost his/her memory but knows Krom's name for some reason. Also, MyUnit is in the "Strategist" class, which uses swords and magic tomes. We've been waiting for this in a main character since... Cellica!
Liz: Krom's sister. Just to nail that one down. Strikes me as a bit of an Ethlin throwback.
I hope "Soiree" is a chick cavalier.
In summary: I think the FE2 influence here is stronger than a lot of the fanbase realizes. And my Gestalt impression of Krom at this point is "Sigurd V 2.0" more than anything else.

Date: 2012-02-18 07:08 pm (UTC)Yeah. I think we're right about this one, and it'll sorely disappoint me if we're wrong.
I want to open a betting pool or something. I mean, I'm willing to wager that the whole dual-Lord thing allows for Krom to be out of the action for a while while MyUnit and Liz carry on. I'm not expecting a shock twist on the level of FE4, but I suspect either Krom, his sword, or both are inaccessible for a considerable chunk of the game.

Date: 2012-02-19 03:35 am (UTC)And I doubt Soiree will displace Titania in the "Awesome female redheaded mounted unit" department, but it will be kinda neat to finally have a girl cavalier.
Still not crazy about the art style though :/

I think the only girl starter cavalier to date has been Cecil in FE3/12.

I think it blows monkey chunks. It has the wedge-shaped faces that repel me in FE4 combined with a weird, slightly creepy stylized blandness that I don't associate with Fire Emblem at all. Plus the muted colors.
