Not corrupted, exactly-- not in the Darksphere sense-- but altered. I mean, if it can take away the will of the user, what's left? The will of the weapon itself? The will of the being who created that weapon?
That sure might explain an apparent personality change. Same goes for Linde and any of the FE4 Holy Blood gang, as far as future!fics go.
