HA! This reminds me of the earlier translated Japanese supports that features Naesala and Leanne's "romance" (if FE10 could be said to have any...) as a dramatic play

ehh? It's not jam-packed with EVERYBODY GETS MARRIED, but the whole story gets started because of interracial love gone horribly wrong. There's plenty of romance in FE10; it's just not purely in supports and not super gushy sparkly in your face, which FE rarely is. FE9's the one where nobody gets together.

Well true, but I view it more as backstory and political tragedy stuff since we don't really get to "see" the romance or the couple really interacting. The romance jab was aimed more towards the people hooking up with what seems like no provocation due to the generic, hardly there supports. Sure the base for the couples was there and could be inferred, but it still felt so static

Mm, personally I found the romances better woven into the story, as opposed to the supports in older games that didn't always hook back in. Geoffrey/Elincia and Ike/Soren had piles of stuff through both games, and Micaiah/Sothe made up for lost time throughout RD. When I think "static" and "out of nowhere", I think of FE4, myself :P
