Sleeping Beauty, Again

Reading about that new "Sleeping Beauty" film, which after all revisits a fairy tale I find endlessly disturbing, makes me want to write some kind of genuinely inverted take on the story.  Something with an active female molesting acting upon a passive/comatose/dead male character.  Just out of sheer perversity, you know?

Suggestions welcome.  It's a burr under the saddle to me at present.

I'm all for revamped fairy tales, but after hearing about the Red Riding Hood movie that came out a while back, I have no interest in seeing what this Sleeping Beauty movie is about. :P (Although I still kind of want to see that Once Upon a Time series on TV...)

This does remind me that I need to finish my own silly take on fairy tales/fantasy stories, The Prince and the Unicorn. (Let's just say the unicorn isn't the pure and noble creature usually portrayed in tales. ;)

For some reason, my first thought was Nyna.

I wonder if this should worry me.

I made the mistake of checking that review you linked. Gah, that movie sounds so deameaning to women. :P

Also, your Sleeping Beauty reversal story idea reminds me of a movie I read about back in the 90's... I think it was about the shy daughter of a funeral director, who liked to feel up caress the bodies of the male corpses (although this was supposed to be portrayed as fascination with the male body, rather than outright necrophilia). No idea what the title was, though...

This looks like a job for Innes, IMO.

I profess to having a bit of an obsession with fairy tales as a whole (and take incredible delight in seeing them completely inverted), so I'm probably incredibly biased. But that would be something to see. In a rather creepy way.

And on the topic of creepy, why do I see this scenario working out almost disconcertingly well with Lyon and Ephraim? (After her last piece with the two of them, I'm blaming this entirely on [livejournal.com profile] raphiael.

This is disgusting. I had no idea it existed until clicking on that link, and kind of wish I could rewind my life and go back to that blissfully ignorant state of existence.

I really loved the Disney version of the fairy tale growing up. Then I heard all the other versions. :/

Any speculation I have on a reversal would probably err toward original fic instead, and I like that Innes idea...
