Meta Month, Day Ten: On Time Goddess Anna

In the unused content for FE1, there is an item called the Time Orb.  We don't know what it would've done in gameplay (as it is, it does nothing), but we can figure that it manipulated time in some way-- moving it back, perhaps, or freezing it, perhaps freezing the enemy a turn.  But that doesn't matter so much as what we might imagine became of that orb.

It went to Anna, right?  Miss Secret Shops, who goes on to be the fourth-wall breaker who suspends time in your playthrough and walks you through reality-bending tutorials, not to mention the creation of MyUnit.  That's how she does it-- she has an orb that manipulates time, and orbs are the dragon-created goodies of power.  And her little toy is the only one not pasted onto the Shield of Seals, so she gets to keep it forever and ever, across the continents and millennia.

So, why's Anna so special?  Why is some common little shopkeeper granted this power?  Well, the easiest answer is, she ain't human.  She looks a bit like Xane, after all-- red hair, red eyes, adorable, and a little... "tricksy."  Maybe she's his sister?  Doesn't fly, though-- Xane specifically mentions how many survivors of the divine dragon tribe are left, and she's not mentioned.  And there's no particular reason for him to lie or shade the truth in that scene, and no sense that he's doing it.  He's pretty brutally honest with Marth, including the admission that he (Xane) basically loathes humans.  Why lie about a missing sibling, or cousin?

Hypothesis: Anna is not acknowledged as a proper member of the dragon tribe, because she's a half-breed, a cross between a divine dragon (I'm better the father is from this lot) and an inferior fire dragon (her mother, I'm guessing).  Instead of having her powers sealed in a Firestone or Divinestone, her powers were actually sealed up in the Time Orb, and she was given that as something to do in order to get the issue of a hybrid dragon off everyone's mind.  So Anna went skipping off into the human world with her unusual powers and proceeded to have a merry time indeed.

Now, two questions:

1) Does Anna experience time in a linear fashion, or can she go backward and forward at will?  I vote for the latter, because Jake in FE4 "remembers" FE3's Linde when speaking to FE4's Linda.  FE4 happened before FE3.  A very long time before.

2) Who/what is Jake and what's up with him?  IMO, Jake is an ordinary Archanean dude that Anna fancied and managed to make quasi-immortal in some fashion.   Like Eos and Tithonus, without the part about being turned into a cicada.  Maybe.
