Fic Thing and Notes: "Starchild, Part 18"
Oh yeah. Chapter 18 is up. I wouldn't expect to have 19 or 20 up any time soon; as I've said before, spinning out plot threads is the easy and fun part. Tying them up neatly is the problem.
Now, a while back I jotted down what I thought were the primary plot threads; here's how we currently stand IMO.
1) Ephraim and his frustrations. (Not resolved, at least not in the sense of making him happy)
2) Eirika and her love life. (Not resolved)
3) The doctored photographs (Still no word on who/what the Ministry of Truth is, but we have a better idea of what's going on)
4) What Sephiran's up to. (We're getting one side of the story, anyway)
5) General disorder in the pilot corps (More or less resolved-- Eliwood's in charge of training the newbies and we can leave it at that)
So, one subplot down, four to go, and two chapters left in the queue.
Going to be in one of those barroom trivia contests today. Hopefully this will go better than the last one, which was heavily skewed toward post 1950s pop culture. My team of geeks bombed. When your Hail Mary moment is remembering the title to "The Adventures of Pluto Nash," it's not an especially proud day.
