A-Z Shipping Meme
lyndis .A: Your current OTP. Ooh! I finally have one. Finn/Lachesis from Fire Emblem 4 & 5.
B: A pairing you didn't initially consider but then someone changed your mind. Eliwood/Fiora. I think one of Manna's stories (Fools Rush In) has a lot to do with it. Before that I kind of thought of it as Eliwood's joke option.
C: A pairing you never liked and probably never will. Raven/Lucius. I. Despise. Raven.
D: A pairing you wish you liked but you just can't. I would like to be charitable about Harry Potter/Ginny Weasley, because in some circles dislike for that pairing quickly reached troll levels and taints the appearance of anyone else who doesn't care for it, but I can't. I can't see it, can't get behind it.
E: Have you added anything stupid/cracky/hilarious to fandom? I think my contribution here was The Generic Lords' Club.
F: What's the longest you've ever been in a fandom? I think I usually run about three years per obsession, often with some interest after the fact.
G: Do you remember your first OTP? The archaeopteryx chick and the ichthyosaur dude from Dinosaucers. Also probably Chip and Gadget from Rescue Rangers.
H: Do you prefer live action characters or characters from anime series? Neither. I also ship people from books. And history. And occasionally contemporary RPF. Not to mention Western cartoons.
I: Has tumblr caused you to stop liking any fandom, and if so why? I only follow the FE tumblr crowd, and the usual percentage of 'em are vile. I don't think they're any worse than forum-goers or LJers or what have you... and there are some good things about FE tumblr fandom like a relative fondness for Innes. But there's also a lot of crap. There's always a lot of crap.
J: Name a fandom you didn't care/think about until you saw it all over tumblr. Not applicable. I honestly think tumblr sucks for anything other than art spams. It's not a tool for discussion, and discussion is my favorite part of fandom.
K: How do you feel about the people in your current fandom? At this point I pretty much just write what I want to write and read or comment as the spirit moves me. Some writers are more likely to attract my attention than others, whether they're posting 'fics or reccing things others have written. And I absolutely refuse to get invested deeply in tumblr or fora because too crazy. DW/LJ is enough, thanks.
L: Your favorite fanartist/author gives one request. What do you ask for?
Assuming they can do Ephraim to my liking, I want my own personal fanfic!Ephraim in either his flight jacket from "Starchild" or his Civil War uniform from "Until the Sun Cries Morning." Self-gratification, yes! Civil War!Innes works too.
M: Your favorite fanart or fanartist. I loved Alexe from the Gundam Wing fandom. As far as Fire Emblem goes, I don't think Agahari is perfectly what I want in terms of style, but her subjects and the way she approaches them usually does it for me.
N: Your favorite fanfiction or fanauthor. Alexe from Gundam Wing will always hold a special place in my heart, as does torch from a variety of turn 'o the millennium fandoms.
O: Choose a song at random. What OTP does it remind you of? Um... my iPod on random turned up a Green Frog call. That don't work, unless the pairing in question is ChuChu/Frog. Huh. Almost all the "love songs" in my collection apply to a bunch of OCs nobody here will care about. I wanted to answer this one but I'd have to cheat.
P: Invent a random AU for any fandom. Dude, I still want the canon divergence-type AU wherein Eirika and Ephraim never meet one another in the course of the war. Also, steampunk!Archanea. Also, my 70s-paranoia FE4. I think that's enough for one question.
Q: A ship you've abandoned and why. I tried shipping Heero/Duo because it was everywhere. Some stories were kind of good. Some tried to make a plausible case. But, upon re-evaluation of canon, it's DOA and was x-ed out of existence by Frozen Teardrop. So, no thanks. I always preferred Heero/Trowa anyway. :P
R: A pairing you ship that you don't think anyone else ships. Draug/Norne. The artbook may've been hinting at it, though. I'm pretty sure they don't get married in canon... but in my headcanon they do!
S: Show us an example of your personal headcanon. Pick any Archanea 'fic for a big heaping dose of it. :P Cain never marries because he's not into women, Jeorge cajoles Minerva out of the convent, Caeda has a golden years romance with Ogma, Est flees to Valencia and starts a new life with Jesse, and Nyna and Teeta agree to share Camus/Zeke/Whatshisname.
T: If you have mostly homoships, do you have any heteroships? I guess I'm more hetshippy in terms of what gets written.
U: If you have mostly heteroships, do you have any homoships? Quite a few, ranging from the "Canon is totally teasing us here" (Trowa/Quatre) to "I see subtext" (Leaf/Asvel) to "Yes, it's crack, and so what?" (John Schuyler Moore/Marcus Isaacson from The Alienist).
V: Are you one of those fans who can't watch anything without shipping? Nope.
W: Five favorite characters from five different fandoms. Souji Mikage from SKU. "Trowa Barton"/Triton Bloom from Gundam Wing. Hermione Granger from Harry Potter. Caeda and Innes from Fire Emblem. Firefly from the original My Little Pony.
X: 3 OTPs from three different fandoms. Uh... Zechs/Noin from Gundam Wing. Mulder/Scully from The X-files (but don't give me that "Fox" and "Dana" romo crap, thanks). And the previously cited Finn/Lachesis from Fire Emblem.
Y: Fandom you're in but have no ships from. Honestly, I think canon for Harry Potter beat all the shipping right out of me. X-files canon came damn close but I fortunately stopped watching before it killed my soul. (We'll always have re-runs.) I mean, for the most part, shipping isn't why I'm into any kind of canon. It's a nice thing to have, and I guess I shipped Chip/Gadget and all that, but I liked them both in genfic just fine.
Z: Just ramble about something fan-related, gogogo. Like I was saying, shipping isn't my main thing. I love SKU, and I've read and enjoyed 'fic and art for an entire galaxy of pairings, but I can't say I "ship" any of them in a positive sense. Like, Ruka/Juri? ISSUES. And that's honestly one of the more positive pairings, compared with the incest and the mind control and the rest of it. Part of what I liked about Mulder and Scully was that it wasn't a goopy romance. It was a partnership between two intelligent individuals, from different backgrounds and of different ages, filled with mutual respect and affection and some mutual annoyance and the UST and the need to get on with the case, dammit. It functioned on multiple levels. And as for Finn/Lachesis... part of the reason it finally clicked for me (I've been aware of it for years, after all) was realizing that it's not the shiny fluffy romance I've seen in fanworks and was never intended to be. It's a relationship that demands that the 'shipper read between the lines and doodle in the margins of what canon provides, and canon absolutely refuses to come down on answers about, well, anything. Canon drops hints and winks at fandom and says "go have some fun with this." Well, I am. :D

Aaah, this is an awesome idea.
And yeah, I really felt like I'd missed something when I found how shippy Utena fandom tends to be. I just didn't feel anything in that respect, I guess, but it happens.
(Except of course, Saionji-chu/Nanami-cow. Forever my OTPest OTP.)

I like discussion. Tumblr is a crappy place for discussion, so it doesn't work for me. If people have to apologize for an excess of text posts, it's not a media format that suits me.
As for fora... I swear there is better FE discussion in Let's Play threads on Penny Arcade and Something Awful than there is on actual fora dedicated to FE. Maybe it's the same people and they just behave better in public, I don't know.

I always see her hair as kind of apricot-coloured, but I seem to have some issues with color perception (brown/violet in particular). I can't see her with Gordin, in part because IMO Gordin's love is Mister Jeorge, whether Jeorge knows it or not.
